Providing direct relief to 4900 households
All collaborating organisations had been working in some geographies and engaging with local partners. Based on need expressed from community members, relief was extended to 4900 households in locations, including Sivagangai, Virudhnagar, Tenkasi and Dindigul districts of Tamil Nadu, Purulia district of West Bengal, Jaipur in Rajasthan, Morena in Madhya Pradesh, Ahmedabad in Gujarat and Araria in Bihar.
Till early June, relief has been extended across 18 districts covering eight states. As part of the relief measures, families have been identified with support of the local organisations and have been provided with ration. The relief provided would suffice a five-member household for two to three weeks. Around six local level partner organisations and more than 50 volunteers have supported the relief operations on ground.
