  • The study, conducted by Partners in Change in collaboration with Koffie Coalitie, Netherlands, is an in-depth analysis of the impact of the global coffee crisis on all the coffee industry stakeholders in India and associated social, economic and environmental issues and concerns in the coffee-producing states of Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The study was made possible through the active participation of different stakeholders including the small coffee-growers, curing establishments, exporters, trade unions, civil society organizations and government agencies.

  • The survey was conducted to capture and assess the current state of Corporate Responsibility (CR) teachings and research in Management Institutions in India, and to assess factors limiting the advancement of the CR agenda in higher education. The Top 125 Management Institutions (as per the Business World Rankings) across the country were surveyed, out of which 104 institutions had participated.

  • The study, conducted with support form Oxfam Novib, is an in depth analysis of the drastic expansion of the small growers, the issues around livelihood and competitiveness of small tea growers in all the four tea producing states of Assam. West Bengal, Tamil Nadu and Kerala. It has attempted to understand how elements of improved social, economic and environmental aspects in the small holding could lead to additional competitiveness for the tea small holdings. The study have also captured and analyzed the barriers to integrate these components of responsible tea production and trade.

  • Corporate Responsibility, today, has become a high-paced activity in the context of economic globalization and the attendant global and national changes necessitated by it. This study was intended to explore the current scenario and the relationship between a company’s stakeholder engagement process in respect of the community and the delivery structures best-suited to meet the company’s stated objectives.

    The ultimate purpose was to see how effective is the dedicated vehicle approach in achieving sustainable development of communities, while serving business needs effectively in order to make the decision-making processes of companies more strategic and sustainable. PiC joined hands with Asia Pacific Philanthropy Consortium (APPC) and Centre for Advancement of Philanthropy to conduct this study. The study was financially aided by APPC.

  • The publication is an outcome of a study conducted by PiC with support from Solidaridad. It provides a detailed analysis of the garment sector of India, understanding Tirupur’s unique success as a major production point in the global garment supply chain. It highlights the emerging opportunities for growth of Tirupur through a quota free system of WTO and the issues of competitiveness of Tirupur in relation to other garment production locations in the world. The report provides a good base to start dialogue and to build the avenues for sustainable garment production in Tirupur.

  • There is a growing recognition that Responsible Business Behaviour (RBB) needs to be linked to active engagement in poverty alleviation and assessing whether there are actions that are consistent with business objectives but with a poverty reduction impact. The study focused the impact of business on the most vulnerable and marginalized among stakeholders e.g. contract workers, bonded labour, chld labour, women, certain special groups and invisible worker groups in supply chain.

    The study captured & assessed the current levels of understanding of RBB among select representatives of corporate, small business, government (policy and regulatory bodies), CSOs representing communities and local CBOs, impacted communities, trade unions, INGOs, donors & multilateral institutions which have a stake in working on or influencing responsible business in the State, Management Institutions, employees, consumers and media. Attempt was also made to assess the status of responsible business practices in the State of Orissa, and collect case studies of good practices pertaining to different stakeholders in the two selected sectors i.e. Mining and Spices.

  • The latest survey was conducted to track the changing attitude and practices of companies in India with regard to CR issues and to enquire into the extent to which CR is integrated as a core part of business. Recognizing the growing attention and interest in CR issues, relevant to specific business sectors, the present survey focused, for the first time, on capturing the perspectives of six sectors. These sectors were pharmaceuticals, power, FMCG (non food sector), IT (Hardware, software and ITES), Auto & Auto Ancillaries, Banking and Financial. The present survey had the responded coverage of over 550 leading companies.
