Knitted Together – Multistakeholder Perspectives on Economic, Social and Environmental Issues in the Tirupur Garment Cluster

The publication is an outcome of a study conducted by PiC with support from Solidaridad. It provides a detailed analysis of the garment sector of India, understanding Tirupur’s unique success as a major production point in the global garment supply chain. It highlights the emerging opportunities for growth of Tirupur through a quota free system of WTO and the issues of competitiveness of Tirupur in relation to other garment production locations in the world. The report provides a good base to start dialogue and to build the avenues for sustainable garment production in Tirupur.
